I have noticed that the most difficult part for families after their newborn shoot is choosing their images from the gallery that their newborn photographer sends them.
for me, it is really important to arrange a time and sit with them to help them in this process, so what I do to help my clients is that:
First of all I want them to show me their 4-5 of their most favourite images of a single set up and poses from their newborn while I show them the slides that I have prepared beforehand.
Secondly, when we went through all the gallery, and finished the first round of selecting images; I remind them how many photos they need to keep according to their package and remind them which photo is gonna look good in Album of if the want a special photo for a print or for hanging on their wall and etc...
finally, we start going over the selected images and finalizing their gallery by talking on the photos in more details to be able to finalize their most favourite ones. But I always find it most helpful when we talk about my clients intention of using the photos and their preferences. and honestly, this method is always helpful and makes my clients more happy and assured with results and that means a lot, making friends who trust you not only clients.
